Why This Cover?

Over the last nine months, I have found great comfort within this retaining wall on the hill. Several trips from Lynchburg to Amherst each week always ended with a visit to the Williams. Some days it was just a quick "Hello," and others have seen hours under the China Fir, dodging a rain shower or just trying to pull myself back together. This particular image was captured on Mother's Day, as I reflected on just how grateful I am to be part of such a precious legacy. It seems only fitting that it be the cover art for this historical document depicting the movement that saved it. Thanks again to the person who left the stone at the Sisterhood Forever event in March. Your intention was inspiring and went a very long way.
